Gym Rules: COVID-19 for Work-Related Fitness Members Only
The Consulate has specified that the Becher 19 Fitness Center can be used specifically by Consulate employees who have a work-related fitness requirement. This has been defined as those in the Armed Services and law enforcement (examples: RSO, DEA, FBI, security details). If you fit into this definition, the rules for gym use are below. If you do not fit this definition, we will keep you apprised of fully reopening the gym as we are able.

Signs with rules are posted throughout all gym spaces. We will mostly rely on gym users to self-police themselves regarding the new policies. However, CSA staff will periodically walk through the gym and spot check for compliance. Anyone violating the rules will lose gym privileges for a week, second offense will lose gym privileges until the normal re-opening. More than 5 violations may result in the gym being closed for everyone.
Fitness members should report any perceived violations of rules to the CSA general manager ([email protected]), who will evaluate and act on them as appropriate.

The workout spaces available for booking in Becher 19 are:
- The Upstairs Gym space is accessible via the main gym door by the second-floor CSA office doors and has the full range of cardio equipment and weights.
- The Downstairs Gym space is accessible via the main gym door, then head down the stairs to the right. The space has cardio equipment and weights.
- The Dance Studio is in the main hallway of the second floor of Becher 19 across from the restroom and has one elliptical, one rowing machine, one stationary bike, a full set of hand weights and a weight bench.
Guidelines to abide by are:
- You are responsible for maintaining the required 1.5 m social distancing and wearing the Consulate-mandated mask style when in public spaces such as hallways and restrooms.
- Maximum 1 person in each space (upstairs, downstairs, dance studio) at one time. No exceptions.
- Sign-ups are handled online for 30- or 60-minute increments at csafrankfurt.simplybook.it/v2/. A 5-minute buffer is included in each booking to give you ample time to clean after your workout.
- Sign-ups both limit the number of people in the gym and facilitate contact tracing if the need arises.
- If you cannot make your reserved time, you must cancel your reservation. Please cancel your reservation as soon as possible, but no less than 2 hours prior to the start time. Failure to show up for your reserved time without cancellation may lead to revoked gym privileges.
- Time slots will open one week prior.
- Upon arriving at the gym, please:
- Sanitize your hands
- Sign in to show that you were present for your reserved time
- Use your fob to enter the space. Do not enter the space without swiping your fob (e.g., do not tailgate, do not enter when someone exits). This is for contact tracing procedures.
- Be courteous to other gym users and pay attention to the time. Do NOT go over your scheduled time or enter the space prior to your scheduled time.
- Clean equipment before and after use. Spray bottles are stationed throughout the gym with paper towels. Some have disinfectant and some have a bleach/water solution – please read the bottle before deciding which to use. We also encourage people to bring a towel from home if they prefer that to paper towels.
- Windows should be kept open as much as possible for ventilation.
