Afternoon Childcare Aide

The childcare aide is responsible for assisting the nursery and daycare teachers for children in before and/or after school care.

Key duties include:

• Ensuring a safe, supportive, and healthy environment.
•  Assisting in the management of child behavior.
•  Monitoring play.
•  Cleaning play, snack and nap areas at closing time, returning toys and mats to designated areas.
•  Communicates all relevant concerns about students to the teacher.
•  Informing the room lead staff member of any concerns that need to be brought to the attention of parents.
•  Monitoring a small group of students in a classroom, gym, or playground.
•  Assisting in the changing of diapers, toilet training, etc.
• Creating and maintaining a positive classroom climate.
•  Prepare materials, anticipating    what is needed, and organizing necessary paperwork.
•  Promotes the school in a positive manner, including carrying a professional attitude in community activities.
•  Demonstrates a consistent and professional attitude toward the accomplishment of school and program goals.
• Assist with bus-pick up and drop off.
•  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Preschool daycare experience preferred.
•  Must be fluent in English.
•  Ability to work with small children; flexibility.
•  Ability to work as part of a team.
• ​ Supervised by the school director.

Working hours:
We are closed on German and American holidays.
