Finance Director

The Director of Finance manages the finances and  budgeting and advises on  business and resource planning.  This position supervises the Accountant & Office Assistant and supports the General Manager (GM).

Key Duties:

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the GM; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
  • Oversee inventory management and pricing policies.
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
  • Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.
  • Assist supervisors with HR issues; process payroll monthly, including annual leave tracking and employment tax compliance.  
  • Use MS Office to prepare spreadsheets, email correspondence, etc.
  • Use QuickBooks to prepare monthly financial statements, billing, collecting accounts receivable, creating financial reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

​Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration (or four years accounting work experience)
  • At least two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and/or financial reports
  • Knowledge and experience using US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Proficiency with MS Office & QuickBooks

This position averages 25 hours per week.
