Finance Director
The Finance Director manages the finances, budgeting, business planning and oversees human resources. This position supervises the Accountant & Office Assistant and backs up the General Manager (GM).
Key Duties:
- Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the GM; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
- Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
- Oversee inventory management and pricing policies.
- Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
- Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.
- Oversee human resources functions and assist supervisors with HR issues; process payroll monthly, including annual leave tracking and employment tax compliance.
- Use MS Office to prepare spreadsheets, email correspondence, etc.
- Use QuickBooks to prepare monthly financial statements, billing, collecting accounts receivable, creating financial reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration (or four years accounting work experience)
- At least two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and/or financial reports
- Knowledge and experience using US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Proficiency with MS Office & QuickBooks
Working Hours
This position averages 25 hours per week. Due to the nature of the work, occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
