Program Director, Carl Schurz School
The Program Director is responsible for working alongside the school director in the running of the Carl Schurz School (CSS) of the Community Support Association (CSA). CSS provides preschool and childcare for children between the ages of six weeks and five years, serving the US Consulate General, Frankfurt community. The goal of the school is to provide a healthy, nurturing, learning environment for the children which it serves and their families. It is also the goal of the Program Director to plan and execute all seasonal camps and be the primary point of contact for the afternoon program. The Program Director reports to the School Director and the General Manager.

Key duties include:
- Supporting the School Director in the daily running of the school
- Ensuring that CSS is providing an effective, safe and appropriate educational program for children
- Providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for our children and teachers
- Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with and among parents and staff
- Maintaining student records and documentation as necessary
- Responsible for all managing, hiring and dismissal of summer staff
- Primary administrator for summer camp, creating a fun and appropriate program for al students, creating staff schedules, and communicating with staff and parents when needed
- Working with the afternoon staff to maintain appropriate staff levels in all classrooms and helping with bus pick up duties when needed
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree required
- Degree preference is in a child or business-related field (i.e. early childhood development or education, nursing, recreation, administration, leadership)
- Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Health and Human Services or related field preferred
- Minimum two years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Must be fluent in English
- Experience working with small children
- Proven leadership, organizational and management skill
- Clear written and oral communication skills, ability to maintain high level of accuracy in duties, able to work independently and has excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to pass a security investigation
