Childcare Aide

The childcare aide is responsible for assisting the nursery and preschool teachers throughout the day. Various shift times are available for this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring a safe, supportive, and healthy environment.
•  Assisting in the management of child behavior.
•  Monitoring play.
•  Cleaning play, snack and nap areas at closing time, returning toys and mats to designated areas.
•  Communicates all relevant concerns about students to the teacher.
•  Informing the room lead staff member of any concerns that need to be brought to the attention of parents.
•  Monitoring a small group of students in a classroom, gym, or playground.
•  Assisting in the changing of diapers, toilet training, etc.
• Supports the teacher in creating and maintaining a positive classroom climate.
• Assists teacher in preparing materials, anticipating what is needed, and organizing necessary paperwork.
•  Promotes the school in a positive manner, including carrying a professional attitude in community activities.
•  Demonstrates a consistent and professional attitude toward the accomplishment of school and program goals.
• May assist with bus-pick up and drop off.
•  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Preschool daycare experience preferred.
•  Must be fluent in English.
•  Ability to work with small children; flexibility.
•  Ability to work as part of a team.
• ​ Supervised by the school director.

Working hours:
We are closed on German and American holidays.   This position averages  10-25 hours per week depending on  agreed upon schedule.
